We are now in Cornwall. The weather is still good, but it is a little cooler as we are on the coast. Before we drove down to Cornwall I drove around to Jen's old house in Cheltenham and took its photo.
We then drove to Perranporth in Cornwall. It is a lovely place. The hotel is a large family oriented place with a kids club and large family rooms. It's a bit old fashioned but really nice. It's slowly being modernised which is good. There was even a cat in reception!
The views from our room were fabulous. The hotel is on the beach and a very beautiful beach it is, too. There is also a great pub on the beach called The Watering Hole. It's also just below the hotel and we had lunch there on Sunday. They were running their beach cricket championship competition and it was all great fun.
Sadly we had to leave Perranporth on Monday and drive to St Ives, another very pretty Cornish town. We arrived and walked down the hill to the town. It's fine going down, but harder coming back up!
We bought some lunch and sat down on the sea wall to eat it. We were surrounded by seagulls and the very cheesiest seagulls they were! One stole half of GG's sandwich right out of her hand!!! We were gob smacked at their audacity!
We then walked up to the Crypt Gallery where Andi and I had bought cards for GG in 2009. After a bit of wandering I found it. Amazingly, the artist whose cards we had bought for GG, Brian Busselle, was having an exhibition in the gallery! We met him and his wife/ partner, bought some more cards one of which he signed and looked at his paintings. Sadly we could not really bring home any of his prints or paintings, but the cards are great.
We then walked back to the hotel meeting several nice cats along the way. GG is very pleased because there have been tons of dogs but very few cats. She thinks we have only met about 20 on our travels compared to the 100s of dogs we've met.
It's going under the car.
We will explore more of St Ives tomorrow.....
Wow! You have really had all the luck! Can't get over the huge amount of prawns you have crammed into a vase (?)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got to see/pat/hug a moggie or two or three.
I'm assuming the gulls were not cheese flavored or even cliche but were in fact cheeky??? Perhaps they were all three.
Nice shot of Jen's old house......
Love you both. Take care. Indulge and enjoy. Miss you heaps Xxxxx
Glad you took my advice & imbibed at the Watering Hole.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Royal Bub!
Love all the moggies, not so much the naughty seagulls.
Enjoy Cornwall; wish I was there.
