Portobello Market

Here is the blog from yesterday. We had a very pleasant, but tiring day and I went to bed instead of writing the blog.
We set off from the hotel at about 9.30 to walk down to the Portobello Road and visit the market there. It was packed even at that early hour. People everywhere and more arriving by the minute.

We walked all the way through looking at all kinds of stuff - fruit and veg, fish, antiques, clothes, books, bags etc, not to mention the amazing fast food stalls. There were buskers of all sorts and several living statues. A very lively and fulfilled place.

We left at about 12.00 and walked back through Kensington Gardens. A lovely stroll.

From there we walked to The Natural History Museum and had a wander around there. It was also very busy and we has to queue up to get in.

We saw the blue whale, the dodo, Darwin's statue and heaps of other stuff. An amazing place and FREE!

We had a very nice lunch and the walked back to the hotel. We left again to go to Ealing Broadway to meet Anne and Hayley, Dean's mum and sister. Had a lovely meal with them and got back to the hotel at about 10.15. We were very tired and went straight to bed.
