Gardens and Lunch

Happy birthday Callum. Wow 11 years old! Great Gran and I hope you have had a fantastic day!
I'm sure you've had lovely presents and that you are looking forward to weekend parties.

Today we spent the morning in Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. It was great. The weather was fine and sunny, if a little breezy. 20 degrees but who's counting. Lots of lovely dogs roaming about with their owners and a wonderful collection of water birds.

We left the gardens at 11.30 to catch the Tube to Shepherds Bush to meet up with Anne, Hayley and Teri for lunch. We went to Westfield - 'the largest shopping centre in Europe'! It is HUGE!!! Think Chadstone and at least triple it!

We had lunch at a nice restaurant - sort of Spanish/Brazilian type food. Very nice indeed! We ate opposite one of those vertical garden walls. most impressive. Hayley had to leave at 2.30 to pick up Jaylen from school and Teri had to leave to go to work.

Anne took us for a tour of some of the centre. It is amazing. There is every shop you can imagine and then some! It even has champagne bars. It's very flash!!!

We had a good look around. Anne bought some shoes but we are a bit restricted buying- wise. Space in suitcases being at a premium. Saw some lovely things but had to show restraint.
Got back to our hotel at 5ish and had to rest our feet. Very tired from window shopping! Had to take a photo of this little car. It is an Aston Martin!!! Incredible!

  1. Callum had a lovely morning. He was wide awake when I got up....I hope he got some sleep.
    He opened his gifts-
itunes voucher, movie voucher, Richmond Tigers teddy thing, new van-type shoes, 5 packs of footy cards and some spending money.
Ella bought him a footy card album and made him a card.
He is having a birthday lunch order at school then off to the pancake parlour for tea tonight.
I will give him your cards tonight ( I will pop them in our letter box- he has been checking it for 3 days now to see if anything arrives from anyone for his bday...hehehe)
The shopping centre looks amazing!!!! Can't believe you didn't buy anything!!!!! You can always 'ship' things home! Indulge!!!!!!
I hope you had a bubbly at the very least.
Speak to you soon and maybe 'facetime' you tonight. Should be home at 4pm.

    Caroline xx

  2. How much do you reckon for the Mini Aston Martin? You could probably buy at least 20 of my little cars for one of them! Keep having fun.
