Richmond Park

GG's back settled down (the drugs I guess). You can only buy Voltaren in packs of 9 in this country, unlike at home where you can buy packs of 30. We are visiting a great many Boots and feeling like criminals!!
All drugged up and feeling no pain, as they say. We set off for Richmond Park as GG fancied seeing some deer, as well as the gorgeous Royal Park. We caught several trains, changing at Earls Court (real Aussies mate!) and arriving at Richmond Station about 11.00am. We caught the 371 bus from the station and got off at Richmond Park.

We entered the park and wandered about for a bit. A beautiful vista. It's a huge park that was originally a Royal hunting park. They hunted deer - fallow and red. We saw several deer and bambis as we strolled about. A gorgeous place.

We had lunch at Pembroke Lodge, once the home of Bertrand Russell the philosopher. A very nice lunch. They do snacks and quick lunches very well in England. Yummy!

Great views over the Thames Valley whilst we ate our lunch. Fabulous!

Left the park and caught the return bus to Richmond Station. Back to our hotel by about 5.00pm. A lovely day, warm and sunny. Super!

  1. I'm so glad GG's back has settled. Just take it slow tho and don't push it, afterall you have a long bus trip in a week or so and you do not want to be travelling with an achy back!
The gardens look beautiful and it's nice to see that sun was warm.
Richmond won last night (Monday night game)over West Coast in WA so we have a very happy household!
    Take care xx

  2. Well done negotiating London Transport, connecting buses & all! I notice you haven't said "and we didn't get lost once!" Sounds like you're having a fun & very busy time of it. Take care of your back, GG. (And continue the photography lessons - the pic of Maz is only slightly out of focus!)
