Edinburgh to Aberdeen via St. Andrews

Off to Aberdeen. We set off early, about 8.30. We headed off to St Andrews, home of the game of golf. We arrived at about 10.30 and had a look at the Old Course. Pretty special. GG and I did not have a birdie, or hole in one, as we were not able to go on the course unless our handicap was below 24 and we had £120 to pay for a round!

We visited the ancient cathedral and castle of St Andrews. Amazing!

We then headed off to Glamis Castle, the home of the Queen Mother and the setting for Macbeth. A most interesting place, (no photos of the inside of course).

We saw the castle and the Highland cattle that are raised at Glamis.

We then drove to Aberdeen and had a brief look at the city centre. We then drove to our very ugly but serviceable hotel. After a meal in the brasserie we retired for an earlyish night.

  4. Bryce here, Andi is completely right when she says Marj can ring anybody at 3:00 AM, except us of course. We just came back from the ANG Turners on Tate exhib at Canberra so if you notice anything missing , it's here. Canberra's winter temps 0-14deg C seems to be much the same as London's summer.
